pbc Statement of Faith

Since its founding in 1965, Pioneer Bible Camp has always held the position that the Bible itself, as the inspired and infallible Word of God that speaks with final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind, is the sole and final source of all that we believe and practice. This statement of faith does not exhaust the extent of our beliefs. For purposes of Pioneer Bible Camp’s faith, doctrine, practice, policy, and discipline, the Pioneer Bible Camp board of directors is the camp’s interpretive authority on the Bible’s meaning and application.

We believe the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired Word of God, without error in the original writings, the complete revelation of God to man.

We believe in one God, Creator of all things, perfect and eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe that Jesus Christ is true God and true man, conceived of the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary.  He died on the cross a sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures; He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven where, at the right hand of God, he is now our High Priest and Advocate.

We believe that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ and during this age to convict men, regenerate the believing sinner, and indwell, guide, instruct and empower the believer for godly living and service according to the Bible.

We believe that man was created in the image of God as male and female, and that these two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image of God. God created marriage to be exclusively the union of one man and one woman as a picture of God’s love for His people, and intimate sexual activity is to occur exclusively within that union.

We believe that in Adam’s sin, man fell, inherited a sinful nature, and became subject to God’s just wrath, totally unable on his own to remedy his lost condition.

We believe that salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ alone, whose precious blood was shed on Calvary, providing for the forgiveness of sins and full reconciliation to God.

We believe all who have received His salvation are automatically made members of the body of Christ, the one true, universal church.

We believe that Baptism and the Lord’s Supper are ordinances to be observed by local churches.

We believe in the personal and imminent coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.

We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead: the believer to everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord and the unbeliever to judgment and everlasting conscious punishment.
